Atheists Angered by Origin of Species Giveaway

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 24 /Christian Newswire/ — The author of a new book called Nothing Created Everything is giving away 50,000 copies of Charles Darwin’s famous Origin of Species to commemorate the 150th anniversary since its publication in 1859. Best-selling author, Ray Comfort, said, “I’m excited that 50,000 students in our top 50 universities will get a free copy on November 19th–and they will get the entire book, a huge 304 pages.”

Comfort has teamed up with his TV co-host actor Kirk Cameron to mobilize those who believe that if university students are exposed to the teaching of evolution they also be exposed to the alternative of Intelligent Design.

Comfort said, “You would think that atheists would be thrilled that Charles Darwin’s epic publication is being given away, but they are not. This is because I have used information from Nothing Created Everything in a special Introduction, to show how crazy atheism is, and how evolution has no scientific basis whatsoever. It’s as though I have kicked a hornets nest.”

… White House officials are eager to avoid the perception that the president is directly engaging critics who appear to speak only for a vocal minority, and part of their strategy involves pushing material to liberal and progressive media outlets to steer the coverage in their direction, senior advisers said.

When critics lashed out at President Obama for scheduling a speech to public school students this month, accusing him of wanting to indoctrinate children to his politics, his advisers quickly scrubbed his planned comments for potentially problematic wording. They then reached out to progressive Web sites such as the Huffington Post, liberal bloggers and Democratic pundits to make their case to a friendly audience.

The controversy escalated, but by the time it was over, White House advisers thought they had emerged with the upper hand. The speech, they said, was the most-viewed live video on any government Web site in history, and they were pleased with the media coverage of the event. …

Although short of vindication, the fact is that what was spoken on Sept 8th to school children was changed.

Anger is not a sin when aimed at a sin or problem and not as judgment of a person. Saying I would not pick the Obamacare up out of the trash is completely different than saying I would not help Pete Stark out of the gutter.

Am I angry over the treatment seniors are getting from certain members of Congress? Yes I am; Certain members of congress are corrupted by their addition to power. They need help to cure their additions; they need to retire; Their dignity, to be considered just and fair, is at risk. They are becoming tyrants that rule, and look down on their constituents, not representatives who take the voice of their constituents to government. They have lost the concept of “We of the people.”

Anger and Hypocrisy on display over Joe Wilson

Cnn is even pointing out how angry some in Congress are over the interruption:

When Rep. Joe Wilson interrupted President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress by yelling “You lie!” a livid House Speaker Nancy Pelosi looked as if she was about to jump out of her seat and give her colleague a five-minute “time out” for misbehavior.

Majority Whip Jim Clyburn warned that he supports reprimanding Wilson unless he goes to the well of the House and apologizes. Many pundits and politicians have subsequently lamented that the incident has revealed a new level of incivility in Congress.
