Spells vs Prayer

Pagans, Wiccans, Druids often claim that Christian prayer is a magic spell. Of course there are enormous differences between the two.

Prayer is directed to a omnipresent God through the name of our savior, Jesus – A God who created the universe, created the earth, and created the trees. A God who wrote the book on what is right and what is wrong, has placed this image in our being,

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Note: I am posting this verse as a mere Christian, there are better verses that could be used by a skilled theologian.

Wiccans pray to pagan gods and to pan, a horned goat who looks like typical depiction of the devil and also goes by the name Lucifer. He has many of the same personality traits of the devil, but wiccans deny that evil exists.

Isaiah 4:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Prayers are asking for God’s will to be done and to ask for forgiveness and change of ourselves into a more Christ like person. Prayers ask for mercy, health, and blessings – but always with the understanding that it comes from the grace of God, and it is his will.

Spells to Pan are claiming a desire because of a power of though that Wiccans believe they have. What is desired is also not based on God’s will; as there is no evil desires, selfish desires are the spells of the day.

Not all spells are directed to Pan, those who died in Sedona Sweat Lodge learning – “The Secret,” or “Law of attraction” – to receive wealth, were to Indian gods. To entice people, who may not desire to worship pagan gods, James Ray removed words such as spell and magick. None the less the pagan gods remain the same and any idol will do.

Obama’s War Against Americans

In some ways President Obama is like Candidate Obama – It seems like a certainty that when historians look back on Obama they will see that Obama as President was always campaigning and giving speeches, doing much the same thing as before he was President. Except that when he was a candidate he showed respect for the voters and the American people.

He told prolife people that the decision of when life began was not in the Presidents hands. He said he would work to fund adoptions. He said all people would be at the table; he would be a uniter not a divider. For the most part he showed respect for his fellow citizens – although there were moments of transparency such as when he had his people go after Joe the Plumper.

But in the last 8 months of his Presidency we have seen him go after those who disagree with him, calling them unamerican, demonizing them and blaming them for the problems he is having as President. The insurance companies are just one of many, … Seniors, Teapartiers, Fox news … it seems nobody is above his wrath.

I would like to respect the office, but he does not respect the office. A President represents all the people in the country. A President has great power and with that power comes responsibility. He must have control over his actions and his rhetoric – if he does not he is a danger to us all. I feel it is a pity what Obama is doing to our country. I do not see the office held by a leader, but rather a bully.

I believe that judgment will come. The only thing holding it back is mercy. Mercy is giving people a chance to change and if they take it they will be blessed. But judgment will not wait forever.

I am reflecting on 1 Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. – May God bless Randy Forbes indeed.

Holly Father we need your hand, we need you as the source of life and love to work on the hearts of those in power in Rockford, that your will be done. Forgive us of any offenses we may have done to embitter those in power at the Rockford City Council. Father, you are the source of righteousness, may you restore righteousness in the hands of Rockford workers, that they do not do what is evil and instead do your will which is good. Father may your spirit move these people.

And Father will you bless Rockford’s Mayor, Lawrence J. Morrissey, with the joy and love that flows from you, so much that it overflows on everything the City Council does, and on their families that they may have true joy; Amen.

Are the Greeks now giving out the Nobel Peace prize?

I was not going to post on the Nobel Peace prize that Obama received. Everybody already knows about it so I thought, “Nothing news worthy for a blog post.”

I’ve reconsidered this because there is a important point that is missing from the superficial coverage that I have seen. The coverage has been factual, he received the award but has done little to deserve it. There are many more worthy of the award, and if we are going to give an award for “Hope for Change” then there are many additional people who would be more worthy as well. When I think of “hope for change,” I think of children – oh the irony that Obama voted for infanticide and gets an award for what he may accomplish in the future.

A consideration of the bigger picture of what the gift means, what it represents, and why a President would and should consider refusing such an award … is its inferred effect on US foreign policy. The Greeks gave an award to the Trojans in the same vain. It appealed to the ego of the King, It represented a military success and lead to a compromise in the security of the State.

The deed is done, the question is how Obama believes he can live up to the honor? Will he compromise freedom and safety for an unearned legacy and secure neither peace or safety.

Reminiscent of crowds of supporters done by dictators, Obama called on Doctors for a photo opportunity to show that doctors support obamacare.

But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.

So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.

Not all of the Doctors invited actually support Obamacare

I would hope that everybody cares about children and that they do get the care they need. In the US the infant mortality rate is 7 out of 1000 live born children die as infants. 40 days for health reform correctly argues that these deaths are important using full moral arguments but then claim the crisis is the reason we need nationalized health care.

In his book, Joys of Yiddish Leo Rosten defined Chutzpah as “A boy, having just been convicted of murdering his parents, begs the judge for leniency because he is an orphan.

Here is the Chutzpah: A recent study in Canada determined that Second Abortion Increases Risk of Premature Babies 93%, and the Hypocrisy is 40 days for health reform know perfectly well that abortion will be covered by Obamacare.

It is also a certainty that abortions will increase because of obamacare. This blood will not wash off of 40 days for health reform members. Chris Smith of New Jersey believes abortions will increase by 33% the effect on this would likely be to increase the US the infant mortality rate from 7 out of 1000 to 9 out of 1000.
